Sketch Text

Sketch text can be used to emboss/deboss a part. If you're going to be modifying a flat face, simply select the face and start a sketch. Create a construction line/circle/arc to locate the text. Go to Tools->sketch entities->Text. A new dialog box will pop up. You'll be able to input your text and its appearance (font & size), as well as its direction and orientation.
A word to the wise: some fonts don't lend themselved to emboss/deboss due to intersecting lines, so pay attention to what you choose.
